How long after the Wedding does it take to see our pictures?
We are 100% digital, but to get your completed proofs will take 6-8 weeks maximum.
Will you photograph my wedding or will I get a staff photographer?
Barbara and Jeff will be the photographers for your wedding.
Will you complete most of the formal photography before the wedding? I don't want to be late for my reception!
That depends on your needs, we can do formals before the ceremony or during the cocktail hour. We like to be able to complete as much as possible before the ceremony. That usually includes the bride's pictures, bride with her girls, bride with family, etc. Groom, groom with his guys, and groom with family. The length of time it takes to do all the formals depends on how many people and groups need to photographed and how easy it is to round them all up.
Do you offer photojournalism photography as well as black and white photographs?
We combine the best of posed formals and unposed casual shots of your day. We offer special color treatments and effects, cropping, black & white, etc. Additional digital editing is available at reasonable rates.
A few days before my wedding day, will you have a planning session with me and my fiance so that the day will go as I want it to?
I always prefer to have a planning meeting to go over timelines, locations, etc. up to 2 weeks before the wedding. Attending the rehearsal is often an option, depending on the schedule. Planning is critical to a smooth-running, stress-free wedding day.
Do you have backup equipment?
Yes we do carry backups of everything in the unlikely event something fails to work or is damaged during the day.
Do you work out of a studio or your home?
All administrative duties and business meetings are taken care of in our home. Engagement sessions, or special portrait shoots can take place at a variety of area locations convenient for you.
How much of a deposit is required to hold you for our Wedding?
We require a 30% retainer to book your wedding date, plus a signed copy of the contract. We accept cash, checks, and credit cards vis PayPal.
What kind of pictures do you take?
We always adhere to your wishes in terms of the style of pictures taken. Our overall style could best be described as Contemporary. This is a combination of photojournalistic candids, the best of the traditional groups and portraits, and an in-between style that is relaxed, fun, and romantic—where we are not posing you for every shot. If you look at some of our wedding photography samples you will see that we use photography to tell a story—the story of your day!
An important thing to remember is the opportunity for family photos. Weddings are one of life's events where family members from near and far gather. A Wedding is a time and place where your friends and family get together in one place, for a happy occasion. How many times will this happen in your lifetime? When was the last time you had a good picture with your mother or father... grandparents... aunts uncles, etc? If you really think about it, Wedding photographs are truly a family heirloom because they are not only a part of your personal history, but also a part of your children's family history.
Why hire a Wedding photographer?
Your Wedding photos are one of the few things that will last for years to come after the Wedding. The food will be eaten, the Wedding dress hangs in the closet, and the flowers have long since wilted. But the photos can bring back the memories of your special day for a lifetime.
Can our friends and family take pictures that you setup and pose?
Due to the time constraints of the day our contract states that we are the only professional photographers. This is because when photographing large groups, the attention of the group sometimes may be lost with a large number of cameras pointed at them. We need to make sure the photos we take (the ones you are paying for) are perfect and we may need to limit other photography if the situation is getting out of hand. Every circumstance is different but in general we try to accommodate the need for friends and family to take pictures.
